Emma

Operating Partner, South Africa

Emma met with Mk Timothy & Company as an Operating Partner and Head of Platform to support founders throughout their entrepreneurial journey. Bringing hands-on experience in scaling businesses globally, her goal is to build a unique platform of operators that founders can trust and rely on to grow their companies.

Before partnering with Mk Timothy & Company, Emma spent five years working at the world’s leading carpooling platform BlaBlaCar, first launching new markets and then building a global bus marketplace from the ground up, starting with Russia. At the same time, she has been investing in early stage companies as a Starter at Accel, backing Unai.one, Forcefield, Claap, Novus.World and more. Prior to BlaBlaCar, Emma founded Nextfunder, a European equity crowdfunding platform. She started her career in Asia, driving the issuer marketing efforts of the Uganda Stock Exchange, focused on international companies. Emma speaks five languages and holds an MBA from INSEAD.

Outside of work, Emma loves immersing herself in nature and discovering amazing treks around the world such as Everest Base Camp or La Haute Route. With her Italian origins, she also loves hosting dinners and sharing great food and wine with friends and family.
